A group of Russian medics and engineers has developed an easy to use Ag+ Silver Water Ionizer. It has two modes to produce the silver water of different silver ion concentration:

* 2* Concentrate for medical use, the concentration of ionic silver is as high as 10000 microgram/liter (10 ppm). Important: do not drink this water as ordinary water - this concentrate is very powerful! Take 2 tablespoons before eating (better on an empty stomach). Adults shouldn't take more than 6 tablespoons per day.

You may also vary the concentration of the ionic silver in the water
manually. For example, to get a 20 ppm silver concentrate, run the device
twice as long in the "concentrate" mode. To get a 5 ppm concentrate,
reduce the "concentrated" mode time by 50%.

The electrode of the device is made of 99.99% pure silver and can be used to produce up to 60 tons of silver water for drinking (making the concentrate uses up the electrode much faster). When you use the device, the silver from the electrode will slowly dissolve in the water. This electrode can provide a family of four persons with silver water for everyday use during 3 or more years.

The device is easy to work with. Just fill a 1, 2 or 3 liter jar with ordinary water, use the control panel to set the volume of the jar and press the "Start" button. The greatest advantage of this device is the fact that it has a built-in microprocessor to calculate the appropriate time of work so that the concentration of the silver in your water should be exactly as required. Brief History of Colloidal Silver (CS): Silver has been known as a bactericide for at least 1200 years. In ancient times, it was thought that disease could not be transmitted by drinking from a silver cup. Silver coins were routinely dropped into a container to prevent the spoilage of milk, and silver containers were used to prolong the freshness of foods in general. In the l920's and 30's, silver was ground very fine like flour, suspended in water and was used orally for many infections and disease conditions. It is still prescribed today by medical professionals for topical use on burns (silver sulfadiazine). For many years the application of silver nitrate to the eyes of newborn babies (to kill gonorrhea) was standard practice in U.S. hospitals and is still recommended by the World Health Organization. However, with the development of patented antibiotics, the use of silver as a disease fighter was set aside in the United States after 1938.

Some sobering facts concerning antibiotics: A 1994 cover page article in Newsweek entitled, "Antibiotics, The end of Miracle Drugs?", states alarmingly "The rise of drug-resistant germs is unparalleled in recorded history. Penicillin and tetracycline lost their power over staph back in the 1950's and 60's. Another antibiotic, methicillin, provided a backup for a while, but methicillin-resistant staph is now common in hospitals worldwide...." The Newsweek article further states that "In 1992, 13,300 hospital patients died of infections that resisted every drug doctors tried." Proper medical use of Ag+ - Silver Water: Use 10 ppm concentrate. Take two tablespoons (loz) and before swallowing "swish" it in the mouth first for five seconds. (Best taken on an empty stomach) Important: New research suggests taking an equal dose one hour later increases effectiveness dramatically. Adults may safely use 2-6 tablespoons per day - reduce children's dosage proportionately (see 'Considerations' below). Do not add any flavoring or take CS with juice, etc.

Protection and storage of Ag+: Store under room temperature. Do not refrigerate or place in direct sunlight. Do not add any ingredient to Ag+. Do not store it in plastic or metal bottles (use glass bottles only). Under proper conditions shelf life is indefinite.

Considerations: According to the EPA, a solution containing 350 mcg of silver is safe for human consumption. However, estimates of silver depletion from our soil range higher than 660 mcg per day. Further, research suggests that at least 2.5ozs of l0ppm Ag+ is needed to adequately kill MDR bacteria. It is also noteworthy that in spite of its known benefits, no official RDA (Recommended Daily Allowance) for silver has yet been established by the National Academy of Science. Note: l0ppm equals 10,000 mcg per liter. One ounce (2 tbs) of 10ppm concentrate contains approx. 295 mcg of silver.
